About the "Pinch Me" Cooks
So here is my story. I am 2nd generation American, that means my parent’s parents were immigrants. My Mom, Linda Ramirez, was 1st generation; and my Dad, Eddie Moraga, well, he was born here, in Arizona. More on dad in another post. They were very proud to be born in America. And they instilled that “love of our country” in all of us. On my mom’s kitchen wall there was a picture of Jesus Christ and President John F. Kennedy.
Growing up, I was around my Nana, Paula Ramirez, a lot. My mom was always working. And my Nana would always say, “Speak English, Speak English!” because she wanted to learn English.
So, I didn’t grow up speaking Spanish. I wasn’t ashamed of my culture. But I had other things I wanted to do, like work in TV. So, I didn’t learn to make tortillas, or some of the other food my parents made, but I liked to cook: and I watched, and I did learn. I just didn’t practice much.
Fast forward. I’m now a recovering “workaholic” and I want to make sure and keep some of my grandparents and parents recipes alive. For my daughter. Grand-kids and everybody else. So here I am. I hope you stay with me.
Some photos of Mom & Dad long before I was even a twinkle in the eye.

My Sisssster. She is a great cook, perfect mother, and grandmother, my best friend, and I don't think I would have survived my childhood without her. Why do I spell it that way? Watch "Music Man". Check out child-star, now director Ron Howard. There is your answer. Love you Sissssssssster!
